Probably one of the better Rom-Coms I have watched in the past 5 years. A great storyline made it all worth it. "Two overworked and underpaid assistants come up with a plan to get their bosses off their backs by setting them up with each other."

An interesting plot that peaked my interest and went under the radar in 2017. Pretty average movie so probably not worth spending your time on. "A doctor, his wife and their five-year-old son are stranded on a deserted island in the Bahamas. They believe they are being rescued when two fishermen find them, but mother and son are abducted and held for ransom."

Kevin Hart films have continually been my lowest average rated films as the star actor. Mark Wahlberg was terrible in this as well. Seemed like they both had one day to try to film the worst movie they could manage. I had to skip half the movie. "With his family away, a stay-at-home dad enjoys his first me-time in years by reconnecting with an old friend for a wild weekend that may upend his life."

Directed by Dave Franco and having a great cast of Alison Brie, Jeremy White, and Dan Stevens, I had higher expectations for this horror film. I thought the acting was great but the storyline, the execution, and mystery wasn't the best. I don't recommend spending your time on this one. "Two couples on an oceanside getaway grow suspicious that the host of their seemingly perfect rental house may be spying on them. Before long, what should have been a celebratory weekend trip turns into something far more sinister."

I watched plane on the plane last night. I had low expectations given Gerard Butlers past of action movies (Greenland, Olympus has Fallen, Angel has Fallen, London has Fallen) however, I really enjoyed the plot and it was a fun action movie to watch. "Pilot Brodie Torrance saves passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island -- only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When dangerous rebels take most of the passengers hostage, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare, an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI."

A heartwarming relationship and lots of character development in this drama. However, it was slow paced, not captivating, and boring. I would give it a pass. "The duty manager of a seaside cinema, who is struggling with her mental health, forms a relationship with a new employee on the south coast of England in the 1980s."

The newest RomCom on Netflix starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. Not much of a comedy, mostly a silly romance. I thought the storyline was good but it was too cheesy for me which has been a constant theme with RomComs that have been released in the 2020s. "Debbie and Peter are best friends and total opposites. She craves routine with her son in LA, but he thrives on change in NY. When they swap houses and lives for a week they discover what they think they want might not be what they really need."

A horror / comedy i could not get behind or finish. I like the storyline and thought it had a lot of potential but the acting, visual effects, and execution prevented me from finishing the movie. "After a governor issues an executive order to arrest the children of undocumented immigrants, the newly detained youth are offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly. Once inside the facility, they soon discover the governor and a supervisor have cooked up a horrifyingly depraved conspiracy that endangers the young and the old."

This is listed as a drama/thriller but the thrilling aspect is barely there. Anna Kendrick did a great job but this slow moving mystery drama fell short of expectations. "Pushed to the breaking point by Simon, her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Alice rediscovers the essence of herself and gains some much-needed perspective while on vacation with two close girlfriends. However, Simon's vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering, and once unleashed, it tests her strength, her courage, and the bonds of deep-rooted friendships."

This is a true story about Syrian Refugees in Canada trying to start their dreams at a new life. The acting was solid but the story and growth of the characters made it worth it. "A Syrian refugee struggles to settle into his new Canadian small-town life, caught between his dream to become a doctor and preserving his family's chocolate-making legacy."

A thriller starring Zoe Kravitz had an interesting concept. Entertaining but nothing out of the ordinary. I would see if it if you think the plot sounds interesting to you. "A tech worker with agoraphobia discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime, but is met with resistance when she tries to report it and is in danger. Seeking justice, she must do the thing she fears the most: she must leave her apartment."

This is a physiological thriller that is also a mystery. I thought it was bland and didn't keep me that interested. "Mike and Kate, a seemingly perfect couple, join a psychological experiment to compete for $5 million if they can last 50 days in a sleek, white room in complete isolation. No phones, no family -- only the Voice of the Immaculate Room keeping them in check if they think of straying. However, as the clock ticks down, the Room becomes more than it seems, putting them through cruel tests to break their resolve and resurfacing private demons which they may not survive."
