Apparently, this is a true story of a woman who lost a lot of weight, ran a marathon, and turned this film into a comedy showing her journey. It had some comedic aspects but it wasn't the best film. Very bland. " A hard-partying woman receives a startling wake-up call when a visit to the doctor reveals how unhealthy she is. Motivated to lose weight, she soon takes up running to help her prepare for her ultimate goal of competing in the New York City Marathon."

Great story, fine movie. Lots of cheesy moments and the acting wasn't the best for some roles. Again, great story, meh movie. Kerry Washington carried this movie on her back. " Eight hundred and fifty-five join the war effort to address a three-year mail backlog. Despite discrimination and war-torn conditions, they sort over seventeen million pieces of mail ahead of schedule."

This is a futuristic film that focuses on relationships. It is not what you expect based off of the description. It wasn't the best. " In a dystopian future London where all social housing has been eliminated, Izi and Benji fight to navigate the world as residents of The Kitchen, a community that refuses to abandon their home."

I'm not sure if I just didn't understand the concept of this early 2000s movie but it seemed to be a bunch of nonsense portraying a bizarre family. " Royal Tenenbaum and his wife Etheline had three children and then they separated. All three children are extraordinary --- all geniuses. Virtually all memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two decades of betrayal, failure, and disaster. Most of this was generally considered to be their father's fault. "The Royal Tenenbaums" is the story of the family's sudden, unexpected reunion one recent winter."

I liked this movie more than the ratings I have read. While it isnt a true story, it was well crafted and had one of the most perfect endings to a movie that I have seen. Sean Connery did a great job and might have convinced me to view some of his earlier work. " A unique relationship develops between an eccentric, reclusive novelist and a young, amazingly gifted scholar-athlete. After the novelist discovers that the young athlete is also an excellent writer and secretly takes him on as his protégé, they develop an unlikely friendship. As they learn more about each other, they learn more about themselves, and ultimately, with the help of his new mentor, the basketball star must choose the right path."

This was a unique story about a photographer for Vogue breaking the norm of going to take photos of World War II and also being the first woman in the process to take on this role. The story was great but there were some moments it felt a bit too slow. Kate Winslet and Andy Samberg did a great job. " The story of photographer Elizabeth `Lee' Miller, a fashion model who became an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II."

Merry Christmas! This is a movie that young kids would enjoy, not me! " When a villain kidnaps Santa Claus from the North Pole, an E.L.F. (Extremely Large and Formidable) operative joins forces with the world's most accomplished tracker to find him and save Christmas."

A 1987 drama/romance that was really good just a bit outdated for my liking. I'm sure back in the 80s and 90s this was a hit. " Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer."

I love a good suspense/horror but this was a let down. Hugh Grant gave a great performance but overall it was weak. Critics loved this movie but I was bored a lot of the film. " Two young missionaries become ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they knock on the door of the diabolical Mr. Reed. Trapped in his home, they must turn to their faith if they want to make it out alive."

A 2010 comedy starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey with a bunch of cameos throughout the film. It was fun to watch to pass some time but not worth adding to your list. " Worried that the spark has gone from their marriage, Phil and Claire Foster plan a romantic night out at a hip Manhattan eatery. When they arrive, however, the restaurant is heaving, and, without a reservation, Phil impulsively claims they are absent diners the Tripplehorns. The ploy seems to have worked, until two heavies interrupt their meal demanding the return of a stolen flash drive."

This film had the potential to be amazing. I felt the Christmas aspect to the movie actually made it worse and less intense. If that storyline was taken out and the acting was a bit better this could have ended 2024 on a higher note. " A young airline security guard is blackmailed by a mysterious passenger who threatens to smuggle a dangerous package onto a plane on Christmas Eve."

I liked this 2010 Comedy/Drama more than the rotten tomatoes scores. It had a stacked cast and a good plot. There just seemed to be missing something throughout the entire film. I think it's worth watching if the plot appeals to you. " Newly hired as a producer on a national morning-news program called "Daybreak," Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams) decides to revitalize the low-rated show by bringing in legendary anchorman Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford). Pomeroy, however, refuses to do puff pieces like celebrity gossip and fashion, and clashes with his co-host (Diane Keaton). Meanwhile, Becky's romance with a colleague begins to unravel, leaving her struggling to save her relationship, her job and the show."
