The Mandalorian and Grogu (6.3/10)

This one got better as it went on, but it just felt like another season of the show rather than something that justified being its own movie — if it's this similar to what's already out there, I question the point of making it a film at all. The beginning is a slog to get through, but you start warming up to it as it progresses. The Hutts showing up was a nice nostalgic touch, but going forward I think Star Wars needs to either lean way harder into nostalgia for the fans or ditch it entirely and carve out a genuinely different path. Still fun to see the visual effects a Star Wars film brings to the table, for what it's worth. "The evil Empire has fallen, but Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they enlist the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu."
