The Kid Detective (7.5/10)

This one was a bit PG for me, if that's the right way to put it — it just felt surface-level throughout. Adam Brody carries the concept well, but I think it could've been executed a lot better; the premise had more room to go darker or sharper than it actually does. Still, it's a solid film that passes the time. "A once-celebrated kid detective, now 31, continues to solve the same trivial mysteries between hangovers and bouts of self-pity. Until a naive client brings him his first 'adult' case, to find out who brutally murdered her boyfriend."
