School Ties (7.8/10)

This is a 1992 Sport/Drama. It was cool seeing Brendan Fraser and Matt Damon this young on screen, back when both were just getting started. Some scenes show their age a bit, but for the most part this is an easy, enjoyable watch that holds up fine as a 90s prep-school drama. My main issue is with the ending, I was hoping it would resolve a bit more decisively, and it felt like there was a lot more they could have done with the fallout instead of wrapping it up the way they did. Still a solid watch overall, just left wanting a stronger finish."When David Greene (Brendan Fraser) receives a football scholarship to a prestigious prep school in the 1950s, he feels pressure to hide the fact that he is Jewish from his classmates and teachers, fearing that they may be anti-Semitic. He quickly becomes the big man on campus thanks to his football skills, but when his Jewish background is discovered, his worst fears are realized and his friends (Matt Damon, Chris O'Donnell) turn on him with violent threats and public ridicule."
