Mr. Church (7.3/10)

Mr. Church is a 2016 drama starring Eddie Murphy and Britt Robertson, loosely based on a true story. It’s a rare fully dramatic role for Murphy, who is mostly known for comedy. The film balances its sadder moments with plenty of feel-good ones, and that mix keeps it from becoming too heavy. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s an easy watch. If you’re in the mood for something gentle with a little heart, it’s worth a look but you should have plenty of oter options.
