King Richard (8.4/10)

This film is about Richard Williams, who is determined to write his two daughters, Venus and Serena, into history. Training on tennis courts in Compton, Calif., Richard shapes the girls' unyielding commitment and keen intuition. Together, the Williams family defies seemingly insurmountable odds and the prevailing expectations laid before them. This movie surprised me by the acting and how it is based on a true story I did not know much about. The movie was captivating and gives you even more respect for Venus and Serena Williams for how much work they put in and how Richard was an interesting father figure to them. Worth watching.
