How to Make a Killing (6.2/10)

I think I’ve reached the point where if Glen Powell is leading a movie, I expect something average. That’s not to say he’s bad, he has charisma, but there’s a sameness to his performances that’s becoming hard to ignore. This was a fun watch overall, but Powell leans a little too heavily into his usual charm. At times, it comes off as overly cheesy, like he’s playing a familiar version of himself rather than fully stepping into a new character. There’s an entertaining core here, and the premise has potential, but it never quite elevates beyond being a light, forgettable experience. It’s enjoyable in the moment, just not especially memorable once it’s over. "A blue-collar protagonist who systematically murders his wealthy, estranged relatives to claim a $28 billion inheritance"
