- Ready or Not (7.3/10)
This is titled a mystery/thriller genre but more of a thriller because there is not really that much of a mystery going on. The movie is action-packed with comedic scenes for the audience and prevents the movie from being listed as a horror. Most cast members did a great job in their roles.
- Light of my Life (6.1/10)
Emotional movie starring basically only two characters. More of a survival movie. Pretty boring all around. Not my type of movie but still decent. Definitely not a must watch.
- Outlaw King (7.1/10)
Solid film. Your classic war movie between Scotland and England. Chris Pine did an amazing job. The movie was similar to THE KING in many aspects but when it came down to the intense dramatic scenes and fighting, THE KING was better. If you enjoy war movies this is the right one. Be aware, it is very gruesome.
- Marriage Story (7.2/10)
Surprised I watched this movie. Not my kind of taste but it kept popping up on my Netflix feed so I gave it a try. Emotional film that had stellar acting performances from Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. Did not realize what movie I was getting into, somewhat disturbing. Not something I would ever want to watch again, their acting was just amazing and it felt and seemed like this could happen to anyone.
- The Highway Men (6.8/10)
Solid movie about Bonnie and Clyde and tracking them down. I enjoyed the plot of two cops coming out of retirement for one last job because they were the best in the business. Netflix does not come out with the best movies so this one is one to watch.
- Code 8 (6.4/10)
Mediocre movie. About abnormal people using unusual powers to their advantage. Interesting idea just could have been executed better. Not really worth spending time on.
- 1922 (6.6/10)
A classic ominous Stephen King film. The movie from beginning until end was depressing and dark. There are many gruesome and uncomfortable scenes to watch.
- 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (3.8/10)
This movie had to be a joke, like most of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie. Bunch of baloney. Whoever made this film should be shocked it even made it onto a screen. The first one was tolerable but this one was unbearable.
- Hustlers (6.1/10)
Lots of well-known people in this movie. I felt Jennifer Lopez did a good job and besides that everyone else were not great. I thought its rotten tomatoes score was too high for what I watched. Not a great movie but the story was interesting enough to keep watching.
- High Flying Bird (6.3/10)
This film is about a sports agent pitching a controversial business opportunity to a rookie basketball player during an NBA lockout. The camera work is odd and the dialogue for the one-on-one conversations were bland. The movie did not have much substance.
- The Lighthouse (5.7/10)
I could see how critics could like this film because it is unique and retro. However, for me, an all black and white film with only two characters is not my type of movie. The beginning was boring and the ending was weird. Not worth watching.
- The Irishman (7.6/10)
Very good film. However, over 3 hours was too long. There are moments where it was dull and hard to pay attention to the long one-on-one conversations. If you missed something, you needed to go back because most of the conversations signified an event that you needed to know. The acting by the three main cast members were amazing.
