This is about a young boy who struggles in school and has different aspirations in life than his family wants. "A coming-of-age story about the strength of family and the generational pursuit of the American dream." It didn't have much plot or purpose but the acting was great and illustrated a great story.

Average film. Not much to write about. A short film about character development of a young boy and a new mother who are not related. Don't need to watch this but not a bad watch. "Follows Joy, a train-wreck on an adventure who is ready to give away her new-born baby. Joined by a cheeky street urchin, they are two diamonds in the rough on the run."

Despite what the scores gave this film, I thought it was a captivating, emotional movie. I really enjoyed Hugh Jackman's performance in a role I am not used to him doing. It is strictly a drama with no humor and lot of serious conversations about depression. "Peter's hectic life gets further upended when his ex-wife tells him their teenage son, Nicholas, is deeply troubled. He soon tries to take care of Nicholas the same way he would have wanted his own father to have taken care of him."

I had high expectations going into this film hearing about it when it first came out. While watching it I felt it was a bit childish and the characters were a bit annoying. I think a rated R version would have attracted a lot more viewers. "A pregnant teen and her former best friend embark on a life-changing road trip from Missouri to New Mexico."

While this wasn't based on a true story, it encompasses the bonds interpreters and soldiers had during the war in Afghanistan. It was really well directed, acted, had a great storyline, solid war-action, and execution. I was not expecting this to be one of the best war movies of recent years. "During the war in Afghanistan, a local interpreter risks his own life to carry an injured sergeant across miles of gruelling terrain."

Didn't pass or fall below expectations. What you could imagine is what you get. Lots of action, followed by a lot of violence, followed by poor acting. "With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hit man John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin."

Woody Harrelson acting a basketball couch caught my eye. The acting wasn't the best all around and while it was a great feel good story, it felt bored for most of it. "A former minor-league basketball coach receives a court order to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Despite his doubts, he soon realizes that together they can go further than they ever imagined."

I was really in the mood for an action film and got excited when I read Guy Ritchie directed this film. However, it was cheesy, poor acting, and predictable. "Elite spy Orson Fortune must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds. Reluctantly teamed up with some of the world's best operatives, Fortune and his crew recruit Hollywood's biggest movie star, Danny Francesco, to help them on their globe-trotting mission to save the world."

This was a poorly acted action movie. A very generic plot with cheesy moments. Jennifer Lopez being the star helped movie numbers. "While fleeing from dangerous assailants, an assassin comes out of hiding to protect her daughter she left earlier in life."

I am a fan of mythical and sci-fi but this was a little past my comfortable point where I normally go. It surpassed my expectations with a great story, character development, and entertainment. Not meant for most people but if it suits your interests you will definitely enjoy. "A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a long lost relic, but their charming adventure goes dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people."

Marvel movies keep going down the drain in this new era. I have yet to see the new Guardians of the Galaxy but I am not as excited as I used to be. Ant man is my least favorite series and this felt like a chore to watch. Didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. "Ant-Man and the Wasp find themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that pushes them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible."

I didn't think this film was as bad as the critics were saying. Lots of character building moments leading to an obvious ending that you could have seen coming from the start. Jack Harlow's debut performance wasn't one for the books but not the worst start. "Two ballers, opposites who are seemingly miles apart, find they might have more in common than they imagined possible."
